Bedrock Regional Aquifer Systematics Study
Georgia
Greater Atlanta ground water studies. The rapidly-developing Atlanta suburbs are increasingly relying on ground water for human consumption. William Burton (BRASS) is working with Lester Williams (USGS-WRD Georgia District) and Randy Kath (University of West Georgia) to investigate the influence of bedrock geology on ground water availability. This multi-year study includes detailed bedrock mapping, beginning in the Lawrenceville area northeast of Atlanta, and Rockdale County, southeast of the city.
