Ozark National Park Service Geologic Mapping Task

The study of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, of the National Park system, emphasizes the Current River and the Eleven Point River watershed portion of the Ozark Plateaus. The primary issues addressed are:

Ground Water Resources
Mineral Resources
Environmental Resources

This study will use geologic mapping to address these issues. The research approach includes:

Detailed geological mapping of critical 7.5-minute quadrangles
Collection of bedrock fracture data and delineation of regional fracture trends
Paleontological studies
Karst Studies
Subsurface Investigations
